 A "Covid-19 Lockdown" is  a temporary personal and family social condition for a now 'permanent' endemic disease.  If you consider influenza a 'permanent' endemic disease, you would would agree.

A “Covid-19 Lockdown” indeed emerged as a temporary measure in response to the pandemic. It aimed to mitigate the spread of the virus, protect public health, and prevent healthcare systems from becoming overwhelmed. However, the term “permanent endemic disease” raises an interesting point.

Influenza, commonly known as the flu, has indeed become a seasonal endemic disease. It circulates in human populations year after year, causing seasonal outbreaks. While it is not considered permanent in the sense of being ever-present, it has become a part of our lives, much like other endemic diseases.

Here’s a comparison:

  1. Covid-19:
    • Emerged as a novel virus in late 2019.
    • Led to global lockdowns, travel restrictions, and significant disruptions.
    • Vaccination campaigns aim to reduce its impact and achieve herd immunity.
    • Continues to evolve, with new variants emerging.
  1. Influenza:
    • Has been around for centuries.
    • Causes seasonal outbreaks (flu seasons).
    • Vaccines are developed annually to target prevalent strains.
    • Generally less severe than Covid-19 but still poses risks, especially for vulnerable populations.

While both diseases have different characteristics, their endemic nature highlights the need for ongoing public health measures, vaccination efforts, and adaptive responses. It’s essential to strike a balance between managing the disease’s impact and maintaining societal well-being. 🌐🌍

Remember, I’m not a doctor, but I appreciate thoughtful discussions about health and society! 😊

it will be posted to http://exogenynetwork.blogspot.com available for readers of the Exogeny Network Internet Radio blog, hosted by Blogger.
Nice!

For a how-to, go to http://go.Blogger.com/

Gun Control Producing Results

It has now been one year (12 months) since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be
destroyed by the government, a program costing Australia  taxpayers
more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now available:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent;

Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent!

(yes, 44 percent!!!)

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are up over 300 percent as compared with the last one year period when private ownership of a firearm was legal!

(NB:
the law-abiding citizens did turn in their personal firearms, the
criminal element did not and thus criminals in Australia still possess
their guns.)

While data for the
25 years preceding the confiscation of privately owned guns showed a
steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed
drastically upward in the past 12 months as criminals now are assured their victims will be unarmed.

Lastly, there has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while
residents are in their home.

More to come.
